Salford Royal is going live with an Electronic Transfer of Care Service (eTCS) on 20th February 2019 that is designed to improve communication between hospitals and community pharmacies when patients are discharged. The new service will see pharmacies receiving copies of discharges electronically, rather than by fax.
GM Healthcare Academy organised training for pharmacies to explain what the changes mean. It included a demo of the system so they could see how discharges will come through. The slides from the events are now available to view here.
Pharmacists and pharmacy teams may also find this service guide and FAQs helpful, as they explain more about the new service and what it means for community pharmacies.
