FMD, Quality Payments & data security slides now available

There was lively debate and a packed audience for our briefing event on the Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD), Quality Payments and the new NHS Data Security & Protection Toolkit at the AJ Bell Stadium in Eccles on 22nd November 2018.

Almost 100 pharmacists from across Greater Manchester heard from guest speaker Raj Patel - Chair of the UK FMD Working Group for Community Pharmacy - on what FMD means for community pharmacies and what pharmacies need to do to be compliant with the new regulations that come into effect on 9th February 2019. FMD will require pharmacies to check anti-tamper devices on medicines are intact, verify the medicine is legitimate and can be supplied, and then ‘decommission’ it to remove it from the EU-wide database when supplied to the patient.

The evening also included briefings on February 2019’s Quality Payments and the new NHS Data Security & Protection Toolkit that all pharmacies must complete by 31st March 2019.
