Drivers and other workers will be offered training to spot signs of child abuse in a bid to help identify those at risk who may be hidden due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
The NSPCC have said they will provide free training for hundreds of workers to help them recognise children at risk of abuse and neglect.
As delivery drivers and other workers people go straight to people’s homes they are “well-placed to spot any emerging safeguarding concerns”.

The risks to children may have intensified during the pandemic because of an increase in stress among parents or caregivers, increased vulnerability of children to certain types of abuse, such as online abuse, and a reduction in normal protective services.
In May, it surveyed 2,061 adults in Britain and found that over a quarter (26 per cent) were not confident they would know where to seek help if they thought a child or young person was being abused or neglected.
