AstraZeneca is holding a virtual webinar on the management of uncontrolled asthma and severe asthma referrals.
This is an opportunity to hear from the regional lead Respiratory Pharmacist, Lynn Elsey, who will share her insights regarding the burden of both short acting beta agonists (SABA) and oral corticosteroids (OCS) in uncontrolled asthma patients. Specifically, she will discuss the significance of identifying, optimising and referring uncontrolled asthma patients in both primary and secondary care to severe asthma centres.
Following the meeting you will be able to identify uncontrolled asthma patients, such as those over using their SABA inhaler and patients with a high OCS burden in your clinics. You will also have gained an understanding of the importance of referring appropriate patients to the severe asthma centre.
There will also be a demonstration of tools and resources, developed by AstraZeneca, that can help support primary care in identifying and stratifying asthma patients who are uncontrolled, high risk of poor outcomes, and who may require specialist referral.
