Consultation skills for women’s health

This event is designed for community pharmacy support staff team members including medicines counter assistants, health champions and dispensary team members. Book your place.

Have you ever struggled having a difficult conversation with someone around women's health? Do you have patients who may be embarrassed to discuss women's health issues? Do you work as a front-line pharmacy team member?

If so, then this training is ideal for you!

We recognise the important role the pharmacy team plays in delivering high-quality care. In many cases, our team members will see a patient before a pharmacist so this training is designed to up-skill pharmacy team members.

The session has been created to align with March’s mandatory health campaign on cervical cancer screening and will equip attendees with the key skills needed to approach women to have a difficult discussion. This could include discussions around routine sexual health enquiries, dealing with people presenting with requests for emergency hormonal contraception and other potential scenarios which may require discretion.

The session agenda is being developed to ensure attendees can maximise the opportunity. This session is the first which has been dedicated to developing consultation skills of pharmacy support colleagues.
